GN Bank Awards… For the People.., but is it really by the People?

GN Bank Awards finally took off on Saturday night and it was spectacular.

Being the first of its kind in the country, the event i will say turned out to be very successful. Unlike other award shows which often starts off very late, The GN Bank Awards started on time. As at  9:00pm when i got to the International conference Centre which was the venue for the event, the show had already started. Stage designs, sound, lighting, security were all on point, the check-in process was simple and stress free. And oh yes.., a lot of pretty Ghanaian girls everywhere (really luvd dat bit lol).

The awards night also saw some outstanding live band performances from Obaapa Christy, Joyce Blessing, Wiyaala, Efya, Raquel, Abrantee Amakye Dede and the self acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale. I have my own reservations with regards to shatta Wale performing with a live band but that i think will be a topic to be discussed some other time. But generally the event was successful and bouda0nline is looking forward to the second edition.

Tim Westwood and DJ Black were DJs and Announcer of the night.

YFM Ghana’s Caroline Sampson and Ebenezer Nana Yaw Donkor (NYDJ) where runner ups in their category and so will earn GHC 1000 worth of prices each.

Anane Edward Awingura won the weekly voting grand prize worth of GHC 5,000.

So much controversies over who won what. Many are those who thought the awards were not the true representation of the people’s choice. Below is the complete list of winners! Go through and tell us what you think.
